Hurricane Dennis has badly damaged the Caribbean Islands as well as parts of Pensacola, Florida.
19th: President George W. Bush nominated John Roberts, from the New York Court of Appeals, as Supreme Court Justice.
21st: Four more bombs exploded in London. Three hit a London subway station, and another hit a double-decker bus.
Hurricane Emily has destroyed parts of Texas and the Yucatan Peninsula, in Mexico.
Lance Armstrong has won this year’s Tour de France bicycle race. This is his seventh straight win. After this year’s victory, he has retired. He is still fighting his cancer.
26th: Space shuttle Discovery made its launch for the International Space Station, at 10:39 A.M. Eastern Time. It launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida.
Since the 28th, there have been reports of debris falling from Discovery. The date which the shuttle crew will come back to Earth after delivering the supplies for ISS is not yet decided.
29th: The terrorists who were responsible for the London bombings on the 21st were arrested.
29th: Scientists in Los Angeles, California claim they have discovered a tenth planet which is 9 billion miles from the Sun. Now, there is a debate over whether Pluto should remain in the Solar System or not.
